What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is simply being present and aware of what you are doing whilst you are doing it, and not feeling reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around you.
A staggering 47 % of the time we are not actually present. We may think predominately about the past, making us prone to depression, or the future, making us vulnerable to anxiety.
Mindfulness meditation literally retrains the brain to consider and gently influence our thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It allows us to be more in the ‘now’, so that we can cope with emotional challenges, work demands, family pressures and life in general, whilst feeling grounded and in control.
I teach mindfulness meditation in 4 week and 8 week group programmes:
Foundations of Mindfulness
This 4 week course is ideal if you are new to meditation but are keen to try it, or are short of time but still want the benefits. This will focus on how to set up a mindfulness practice and provide you with different tools you can use.

2. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
This 8 week course explores mindfulness meditation in more detail. The programme involves longer practices and goes in depth about how to use mindfulness to work with challenging emotions. This course is the same format as those is the studies researching the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation.
These courses can be taught as a group, individually, or woven into your coaching sessions.
